Chaplin Estates

Founded in 1977, McWood Studios is a design and fabrication shop located in a state-of-the-art facility in Toronto, Ontario. Our studio creates scenery and sets for Film, Television, and Theatre; booths and displays for tradeshows; and custom millwork for museum and art exhibits. We collaborate with designers and architects to deliver unique projects to clients across Canada and the U.S.

Project Chaplin Estates Staircase and Fireplace Surround

This residential staircase is constructed from laser-cut steel stringers, a custom support system and quarter sawn oak treads with a natural water-based finish. It also features oak banisters, adhered to a glass balustrade. The fireplace surround is laser-cut hot rolled steel with a natural finish to preserve the rustic aesthetic of the material. Our construction technique requires no onsite welding making installation fast, clean and safe.
